Festival Flirting Tips

So it’s that time of year again for digging out your whistles, wellies and wet wipes for the 9 hour commute to the middle of nowhere, to do ridiculous things in a field and watch bands play.

Yes, festival fever is upon us once again and in the spirit of making love not war, I’ve devised some festival flirting tips, so that your stint as in the great outdoors is packed with all types of action.

My pearls of wisdom in the press...

Now this is all quite bonkers, but I figure it's handy to have all this stuff in one place.  So here's some advice that I've provided to the wider world in print...  Hope you find it helpful!

What to wear on a first date...

So, you’ve hit it off like a house on fire with a certain someone, and after a spot of DM / text  / Facebook tennis, you’ve finally agreed to meet.  Excellent.  You’re no doubt in for a hoot.  If however, you’re feeling a little anxious (totally understandable) then I’ve done some asking around to give you some helpful hints.  Kicking things off – what to wear…
I asked users and staff at Flirtomatic what they thought makes the ideal first date outfit.  Here’s what they said:

The Big Apple vs The Big Smoke

Safe in the knowledge that guys and gals the world over are motivated by similar impulses, I'm constantly intrigued by cultural customs which exist when it comes to dating etiquette. Whilst it's in nobody's interest for me to compare say, traditional Russian courtship with romance in, I don't know, Africa, there is one cultural comparison which readers of this blog may find interesting.

Many client interviews and far too many coffees ago, I met a smokin' 30 something girl, who'd just returned to London having lived (and dated) in New York for almost eight years. She was finding the London dating scene something of a struggle and needed my help in the hunt for a worthy contender.  'Surely things can't be all that different?'  I thought to myself. Well I've done a little research and apparently, they can.

Married and, um, on the prowl?

I’ve been thinking about cheating a lot lately.  Not on anyone in particular, but on the subject of it you understand.  A few months ago, I came across this article about infidelity websites, which are, for those of you who don’t know, dating sites where people in long-term relationships/marriages sign up with the sole intention of having an affair.

I don’t mind admitting that when I first read about this, I almost did a mini-sick.  Put simply, I find the whole concept disgusting, but my curiosity got the better of me so I did a little digging. I signed up to the biggy, a site called ashelymadison.com – their motto is ‘life is short have an affair’ and they unashamedly advocate adultery. I hate that I’ve just given them publicity, but I sort of have to.

How to break up with someone.

Now, you might think that this is a terrible thing to give advice on, and I'd totally agree with you.  The process of of breaking up is at worst truly awful, and at best, truly inconvenient. I've heard hundreds of break up stories over the years, and I've also experienced what we can basically call a divorce - so I understand that each instance is uniquely grim for at least one person involved, yet equally, I've heard enough to know that there are common qualities in every situation.

Most of my close friends, save a group of about 8 girls, are guys.  Because of my job, they consult me about their love life, more than I expect they would if I worked in say, the food preparation industry.  Recently, one of my best buds was trying to break up with his girlfriend for about 3 months.  (Yes, I know that's pretty cowardly, but it's also quite typical when you're a nice guy who actually happens to like the girl you want to break up with.)
